Vedic Rituals - Yajna
Yajna is a ritual or rite. It is a type of sacrifice in the sense that the person for whom
yajna is performed, in addition to the priest performing the rite, participates in it with his
energy in the form of money or donations by which a particular deity or demigod is
worshiped, and by praying.
Yajna contains prescribed texts and procedures for rites that are beyond liturgical
worship in a specific religion. So, there is a Mass and there is a way we invoke a certain
energy or mercy of a deity, which cannot be done as part of a Mass or religious program
because it is for all people who come to the temple or God's house for devotional reasons
just to say prayers. Yajna is a ritual performed only for us or our family members and
ancestors, to help us in our spiritual life or to invoke the energy of a particular deity or
deities from whom we want to receive blessings for both spiritual life and certain material
prosperity that is called karma kanda in Vedic culture. Thus, yajna is a ceremonial process
that does not have to have religious significance but Vedic yajnas that are performed for
you can only be performed by high priests (initiated brahmanas).
There are several types of yajnas: Vedic; Tantric; Vedic-Tantric; devotional; rituals
related to pagan and similar cultures. They can be performed with or without sacrificial
fire.
Devotional yajnas are performed in the process of worshiping deities by offering
auspicious objects for worship (upacaras), offering food (raja bhoga), and mantras that
have a purifying effect and liberate from karmic reactions (purvanga-karmas).
The yajnas we offer here are devotional and karma kanda yajnas related to Lord
Vishnu, Lakshmi Devi and their many incarnations as well as 10 Avatars. This worship is
also called arca-vigraha which is one of the 9 most important processes of devotional
service described in Srimad Bhagavatam. Through these yajnas the Shalagram Shilas are
worshiped which are the body of Lord Vishnu itself, completely identical to Him. They are
worshiped daily for a certain period of time in a devotional way according to the
instructions of the Pancaratra Pradipa by doing puja (a ritual in honor of the gods) which
contains: receiving the Lord; bathing the Lord; raja bhoga (offering food- fruits, nuts,
vegetarian dishes or sweets); arati ceremony (offering auspicious objects through which
the power of the elements of earth, water, fire, air and ether is manifested); concluding
activities such as offering mirror; chanting mantras or Kavachas (Armor or protection
from ghosts, demons, non-physical beings and black magic); offering the Lord prayers for
you and to fulfill the purpose for which the yajna is made. In addition to spiritual benefits
and protections, these yajnas provide a beneficial effect or increase the flow of spiritual
energy even into our material activities, which are not necessarily in conflict with our
devotion to God.
No yajna can be performed without pancaratrika-vidhi. Worship according to pancaratrika-
vidhi is called vidhi-marga, and worship according to the bhagavata-vidhi is called raga-marga.
I have been performing this spiritual practice for 32 years, yajnas and rituals for 24 years.
Vedic culture recommends that all yajnas are performed regularly so that a person,
his family or his ancestors may have eternal well-being.

YAJNA OPTIONS:
SRI DHANVANTARI YAJNA
Sri Dhanvantari is described in the Puranas as the form of Lord Vishnu and is
considered the God of Ayurvedic medicine. He appears with a pitcher of Amrita (nectar of
immortality) from the ocean of milk after a great battle of demigods and demons.
Worship of Sri Dhanvantari brings great blessings to health, longevity of life,
knowledge of Ayurvedic medicine, and thus healing powers and medical sciences. It
brings spiritual and material prosperity, protection from the negative influences of people
in our surroundings and raises the energy efficiency of the body.
SRI GARUDA YAJNA
Sri Garuda is described in Srimad Bhagavatam as one of the greatest devotees,
although he is better known to us as the carrier of Lord Vishnu himself. Garuda is the Veda
swaroopi (embodiment of Vedas) and the pure devotee of Lord Vishnu. All the activities of
Sri Garuda are considered direct service to the Lord. An entire Purana is dedicated to Sri
Garuda who is mentioned even in some very intimate pastimes of Lord Krishna in
Vrndavana. Garuda is Pakshi Raja (king of birds) and has wings and the head of a bird. He
is so powerful that when he just swings his wings, we can hear hymns from the Sama
Veda. He is the protector of children, health and the future, he protects against snakes and
venom. He is also known as a deity who protects vaishnavas but also for his power and
effectiveness in removing various forms of black magic and subtle non-physical beings.
Yajna for Sri Garuda is very important because he is the protector of everything on
the physical level, material prosperity (work, career, etc.), he calms our mind and solves
karmic debts! This Yajna helps a person who worships Lord Vishnu with mind, words and
body to be protected in all circumstances, in the temple or in his home, while worshiping
Lord Vishnu.
SRI HANUMAN YAJNA
Sri Hanuman is a great devotee of Lord Ramacandra who shows exceptional and
complete devotion to Lord Sri Rama. Sri Rama is one of God's names which means "the
source of all pleasure and happiness". Hanuman, like Garuda, is considered one of the
most exalted devotees who protect us from all dangers. He comes from the Vanari people,
beings who have a humanoid body with a tail and monkey head, but these beings are not
monkeys. Every hair on his body vibrates the transcendental syllable Ram, so the yajnas
that are performed for the pleasure of Hanuman are very auspicious for developing
devotional qualities in the spiritual life. Hanuman yajna is also known as one of the very
powerful ways to protect us against ghosts, demons and evil planetary influences. By the
grace of Sri Hanuman we have the deity Hanuman who has been worshiped for 272 years.
In this yajna Sri Hanuman protects in situations of life crises and dangers
(mahavira), protects in difficult situations (tatvagyanaprada), destroys all illusion created
by matter (sarvamayavibhanjana), destroys evil and negative influences of the planet
(sarvgraha nivashinay), destroys enemy missions in life (parayantra prabedhaka), gives
blessing during the worship of the Lord (anjaneya), helps in separation
(sarvabandavimoktre), brings successful completion of the started missions, tasks and
plans (parijata tarumoolastha), liberates us from chains of anxiety and suffering
(shrunkalabanhdamochaka) and protects from sorrow, etc.... there is no end :)
SRI MATSYA YAJNA
Sri Matsya is one of the avatars of Sri Krishna known in other religions and
scriptures for coming before the great flood where the Lord saves animals and His closest
devotees. It appears in the form of a transcendental fish that in itself has nothing to do with
the terrestrial form of fish. Sri Matsya is a very rare deity. By divine grace we possess
Shalagram Shila, the deity Matsya who has been worshiped for 68 years of which 52 years
on Radha Kund !!!
Yajna for Matsyadeva brings numerous blessings on the spiritual level, spirituality,
the power to preform austerity and detachment from the material. Enables spiritual growth
and development at all levels, knowledge, power to distinguish spiritual and material,
transcendental knowledge, going to holy places, protection from pain, accidents, traffic
accidents and pain or their reduction, protection from or during operations, natural healing,
reduction of suffering caused by material energy. It brings protection from harmful and
aggressive activities, dangerous animals, people with demonic mentality, degradation and
impure matter that contaminates the consciousness of human beings, etc.
SRI PARASURAMA YAJNA
Sri Parasurama is also considered to be the deity of Sri Rama and He is the 6th
incarnation of 10 Vishnus. He is the only one of the 10 avatars who still resides on planet
Earth in this dimension. He is known for killing 21 generations of kshatriyas (warrior
caste) who, due to their degradation, have become a great burden to the planet Earth. He is
presiding Deity of the planet Venus, so in addition to austerity and spiritual powers, He
also brings great blessings that Venus as a planet brings. Parashurama means “Ramacandra
with an ax”. The deity Parasurama was installed in our home 12 years ago.
Parasurama yajna gives numerous blessings in our lives that can bring us benefits in
various life plans since Parasurama is the spiritual ruler of Venus. This yajna brings
benefits at a lower and higher level. Lower
level represents money, business success, ability to love, amount of collected treasure,
vehicles, health (especially eyes, reproductive organs, skin, face, kidneys, neck), goodness,
kindness, good looks, pleasant personality, generosity, success, art, jewelry, decoration,
consulting, counseling and public speaking,
At a higher spiritual level, Parasurama is a source of wisdom, knowledge, austerity and
commitment to the truth.
SRI SRI KRISHNA BALARAMA YAJNA
Krishna is the most intimate name of God which means "all-attractive" although you
will not make the mistake of addressing God with any other name in your religion or
culture, however, all the power of God is concentrated in 3 names - Hare (Sri Hari),
Krishna and Rama (Balarama, Bala = strength, Rama = pleasure). By worshiping Krishna
and Balarama, a person gains all the benefits of a deep devotional relationship with God as
well as the ability to release all unfavorable and undesirable impurities in
theheart.
Krishna Balarama yajna gives protection and spiritual strength to overcome all obstacles in
clearing anarta (impurity in the heart) such as rage and uncontrollable anger, greed, lust,
jealousy, selfishness, avarice, egoism and other anarts that are destroyed by Lord
Balarama. It removes fears that block our self-esteem and sense of worth in spiritual
practice. It brings protection on travel, on court or in family disputes, removes demonic
influences during all sandyas or parts of the day.
SRI SRI SUDARSHANA YOGA NARASIMHADEVA YAJNA
Sudarshana is the disk of Lord Vishnu and one of His most powerful weapons. The
Sudarshana chakra destroys the enemies of pious people, kills demons and all evil beings
sent by black magic. It protects from envious human beings, demons and spirits. Sri
Sudarshana is considered to be the other side of the coin of Lord Krishna himself, or
Narasimhadeva (the half-man half-lion form of Krishna). It is especially intended for the
protection of holy persons. Sri Sudardshana is also known as a powerful weapon that burns
not only the opponents of holy people to ashes but also all obstacles in life. I worship this
deity for 14 years. It was made by stapati (specially authorized persons to make Deities)
according to the instructions of the scriptures.
Sri Sudarshana destroys all sins, karmic reactions, diseases (especially ones that are
not cured even after a long time). He brings protection from the influence of black magic
and spells, witchcraft, enemies and hostile action, thieves, demonic influence and much
more. This yajna also includes daily recitation of Sudarshan ashtakam and every Saturday
recitation of Sudarashan moola mantra, klim mantra and Sudarshan gayatri. Since the deity
of Lord Narasimhadeva is accompanied by the deity of Lord Narasimhadeva, Narasimha's
mantras for protection are recited and a special prayer said by Lord Ramacandra when he
had a darshan with Narasimhadeva in Ahobilam (the place where the nine self-manifested
deities of Lord Narasimhadeva are located).
SRI SRI VITTALA RUKMINI YAJNA
Sri Sri Vittala Rukmini are beautiful and powerful deities who have appeared as a
result of the profound transformation of the devotee Pundarika who is the expansion of the
Supreme Lord Vishnu who, through this amazing event, taught all people on the planet
about the importance of showing love to loved ones as well as the importance of personal
service (seva) for our Divine Father and Mother. The story is long, so we won't tell it here
in details, but it's mostly about the transformation of Pundarika, who became extremely
mean to his parents and wife after the wedding. One evening the holy rivers Ganga,
Yaumuna and Saraswati appeared to him and pointed out his sinful life and behavior
towards his family. After being informed that he was considered the greatest sinner
because of his sins against his family, Pundarika changed completely and began to serve
his parents so beautifully that even Lord Vishnu, when he visited him in his home, had to
wait to worship his parents first. Vittala and Rukmini seemed angry at him and put their
hands on their hips expecting him to serve them as well. Therefore, whenever we see the
deities of Sri Sri Vittala Rukmini we see them in that position which reminds us that God
is always waiting for a loving exchange of service between Him and all souls who want to
develop a relationship with God in the mood of a bhakti. Bhakti in true translation means
love and represent a process of devotional service with love between God and soul.
These deities are very popular in southern India. Sri Sri Vittala The Rukmini deities
we have in our home are about 400 years old.
This yajna and worship brings great benefits for devotional service, improving
family relationships, protection in family relationships that are significantly disrupted,
protection of the family from external influences, protection of marital relationships,
purification of many sins accumulated in this and past lives.
SRI VENKATESVARA YAJNA
Sri Venkatesvara is Lord Vishnu, known in India as Balaji. The original Sri
Venkatesvara is located on the hill of Tirumala above the city of Tirupati whose temple is
considered the richest on the planet earth. Tirumala is the greatest Sri Ananta shila in the
Universe. Lord Balaram manifested himself as Ananta Shesha in the form of MountTirumala.
Among other things, Venkatesvara means one who plucks the root of material
existence and material attachments from the heart.
This yajna and worship brings protection from abandoning religious principles and
great progress in spiritual consciousness. It satisfies all ancestors and demigods and brings
great protection not only in the spiritual but also in the material sense. Apart from
numerous spiritual blessings, Sri Venkatesvara brings the development of devotion and
attachment to the Supreme Personality of Godhead and the power for doing austerities. It
especially brings protection and abundance to devotees. Each gift and donation to this
deity is returned 1000 times more in the form of material abundance, material prosperity
and protection of acquired goods, which can be manifested in this and next material
existences if the soul does not complete its spiritual path in this life. In this way, the debt to
Kuvera, for the wedding with mother Padmavati, is returned. It is simply not possible to
describe all the blessings that the worship of this wonderful deity brings.
